Iceland
There is a wonderful artist residency on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula in Western Iceland called “Saltport.” A retired couple named Steingerour and Arnie Johannsdottir converted a completely dilapidated old fish factory into a magical artist retreat in the village of Hellisandur. I spent the month of August 2025 exploring the landscape, painting, and experimenting with new mediums.
